Loves hot baths, big walks, books, cats and dogs in equal measures, craft activities, pantsuits, surfing and paddle boarding.
I am a registered midwife and antenatal educator, with post graduate certifications in perinatal acupuncture & massage. I graduated from AUT in Tāmaki Makaurau in 2018, and originally worked in a busy secondary hospital before returning to postgraduate study and moving into antenatal education and resource development.
I have completed a postgraduate certificate in Midwifery practice, focussing on diversity and inclusivity for the LGBTTQIA+ community and am currently working toward my thesis proposal for my master’s in this same area through Otago Polytechnic.
I currently study, teach antenatal classes, develop educational resources for consumers and professionals, and do a sprinkling of primary based clinical midwifery as well as running my acupuncture and massage practice from home. It all keeps me very busy!
I believe in creating a more equitable and safe journey to parenthood for all birthing families across the rainbow. My work, study, and clinical practice reflects this ethos at all times. I’m incredibly passionate about using knowledge to empower those in my care - I teach self advocacy, informed decision making, and values based information gathering throughout my teaching and clinical practice.
On this journey of pregnancy and parenthood, I like to think that I’m merely the tour guide, while you are the captain.
